It is a very professional company

It is a nice and professional company to work for. The only issue is salary is very low. Payment is very low, the management will make sure you never hit your flat rate hours. They will give the good jobs to other techs who are friends from the management and leave you with oil changes and tires so basically you have no chance top meet your goals and raise your family.

Excelente Ambiente

Muito boa para se trabalhar, onde se tem liberdade e a oportunidade de colocar em prática o senso de dono. O que deixa a desejar é a gestão. Onde não apoia o Assessor nas tomadas de decisões e muito distante dos Assessores.

too demanding

management expect too much-- then changes the rule halfway to lose your bonus. You need to get everything in writing-- they will also make empty promises

Total chaos

This place is nothing like it used to be a few years ago. High turn-over rate results in newbies training newbies creating nothing but headaches for everyone involved. I enjoy working with most of my coworkers and the paycheck. That's about the only positive thing I can come up with.

Great Culture, Horrible Techs who back stab

early, 6:30 phone calls, horrible communication. You will be set up by mechanics who had loyality issues. they make there money however and throw everyone and anyone under the bus

Toxic work environment

Everyone is so high strung and stressed out all the time. No positive feedback ever. They just like to yell at you, in front of everyone if you make the smallest mistake or you’re one minute behind on a task. No time to take a lunch break or even run to the restroom! I was afraid to even talk the whole time I was there. No way it needs to be that intense. Pay is good, but not really worth constantly being talked down to.

Firestone was one of best experiences I’ve had.

What is the best part of working at the company?We were one big family, when tragedy struck almost every one contributed emotionally and financially. Teammates could and were encouraged to actively take part in making our plant the best. We worked hard to put out the best and there was always friendly competition to exceed production quotas. We were rewarded with 65 inch flat screens cellphones and other electronics for not missing days, we were taken out to lunch, we received hats, coats shirts, jackets ect. Management always made time if you had issues or problems and they did their best to work with you . What is the most stressful part about working at the company?When a bead plate was found to be damaged or defective. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Friendly and welcoming. It was not the best paying job in Dyersburg but many of us looked forward to going to work . We had fun but we worked hard .What is a typical day like for you at the company?Come to work, find out who’s on the same assembly line as you. Do our twice daily stretches, first one was when your shift started, second one was after lunch. Get with your press operator and see what position you were assigned to and then commence to getting your production quota met and exceeded. And at the end of the day see who got bragging rights for the day.

Lots of opportunity to try new things, influence decisions, and make positive change for the company. Teams tend to run lean, so be prepared to take responsibility outside of your area to get things done.

Good pay decent schedule bad workplace

Work a modified dupont schedule which is a day/night rotation with a 7 day off period once a month. Great pay starts at 22 and tops at 29. Unlimited OT if you ask. Reason I gave it 2 stars is they simply don't care about their employees. They care about production so much that they breathe down your neck for 12hrs straight. Training is bad. You're always looking over your shoulder. 1 break but you have to cut it short to get back on time. Some work areas are harder than others for the same pay. Hard virtually impossible to move up.

Horrible place to work especially after DHL took over the warehouse these people work you to death and the fire you without warning then April from DHL is a horrible person to work under

Unfocused and frustrating

The work at Bridgestone was not demanding, but also not clear or meaningful. I came into the office during a time of heavy restructuring with a very short employee turn-over. My mentor and the next 2 people in line to mentor all quit/retired early, leaving me in an awkward position. There was a lot of potential for a great internship experience, with a well defined timeline for onboarding coops. Unfortunately, all of that seemed to have been thrown out the window, and overall the impression I got was that team members would rather give me menial and unimportant tasks than spend the time it would take them to teach me the technically difficult and relevant tasks due to pressure from management to improve their short-term results.

Productive place to work good people

Good pay just typical union nonsense but overall it did pay the bills and the hours was there if you wanted them and also easy to change departments when one is posted

I wish I had quit sooner.

The work culture here is mostly negative. You're told that it's three on four off, but in reality, you work four or five days a week, which leaves you tired on your days off. It's difficult to think of an enjoyable part of this job. Every day seemed more like a prison sentence than just a job. This is an EXTREMELY boring production job. If you are capable of standing in the same spot doing the same thing for twelve hours, then this might be the place for you. However, if you're young, and have a life or hobbies, then I'd steer clear of Bandag.

It is a fun place with a putting green on one floor

It is a decent place to work. It is unfortunate that they are laying off so many people as they are already understaffed, and the managers/directors do not have a clear vision for the future.

If your only interest is making money and you are able to look past or ignore all of the negative aspects of your work and culture this may be a tolerable job for you.

Stay away from this place! Horrible work environment!!

This place discouraged me from being a tech, and I love working on cars and go to tech school for it. South Kirkman location has to be the worst of them all. These people don't care about you at all, don't consider the life outside of work, make fun of you when you have little hiccups at work. Talk down on you all day long, they are a bunch of ego-driven giant babies. Never in my life would I work for them again or even recommend someone to go there as a customer, they are slimey and the master techs would constantly break things and set up lower level techs to take the fall. That place needs to be shut down!
