Excellent Executive Management Team.Benefits provided by Carter Machinery are excellent.Workloads are heavy but manageable. Good time management skills are a must.The industry offers exciting opportunities and challenges.The workplace culture is good however there are issues with the older female employees and those that have been with the company for extended periods. There is a huge coaching opportunity with these employees to assertively review the core values of the company and appropriate workplace behavior individually and towards other employees.

It was better when it was alban

Extremely overworked and ego in management status is very toxic.Never understood how certain people up the ladder even deserve the positions that were given. Not earned.... Most interactions involving service to customers is unprofessional.

Not the place for a family man

If you have kids steer clear because this place wants you to work ridiculous hours and gets upset when you need to leave at the end of your shift to care for your children.

Good pay, odd management practices.

Can overall be a great place to work. But it's who, not what, you know that gets you anywhere. Management is very disconnected from the people they oversee.

lack of trainning and all excuses. management will sweep under the rug. they don't care about you. another greedy corporation just to get you on the door.

Not bad for a single guy or girl if you have kids your work life balance sucks your gone every day 12-16 hours a day

If you like money and wanna learn apply but if you can’t stand the cold or hot or even like long hours I wouldn’t even apply if I were you good money and good co workers bosses are pretty good to.

Inclusive and Friendly Work Environment

Carter machinery is a great place to work. The work environment is very friendly. There are ample opportunities to expand your functional expertise and learn. They promote growth from within the company and encourage employees to grow within their career.

Productive and Fun work enviornment

Everyone is positive, nice, and strong communication. I come into work and everyone speaks and offers help. I learned fairly quickly. Flexibility if you need it. Overall great workplace.

Good company

Carter is a good company to work at overall. The pay is good, the workload is heavy, and the expectation is high. There are some conflicting initiatives.

Challenging and fun. Family atmosphere.

As a sales dealership first, it took us a while to earn respect as a rental division. But we’re here and it’s extremely fun to still be in the true rent to rent business and be able to set yourself apart as a dealership with additional service offerings and the CAT name behind us. Most sales managers are challenging but don’t seem to micromanage. Dealer principle/ Executive management is very aggressive with goals that sometimes don’t match available support and resources. But it’s evident that they listen to their employees and make every effort to accommodate where they can. The company genuinely cares about its people.There are plenty of divisions within the company that allow mobility, and experience different parts of our business.

Working everyone’s jobs.

Employees are constantly calling out and management always seems to over load the ones that stay and work. It’s a very “click” type of place to work. Management will not get any new tooling or equipment unless it’s a safety issue. But it becomes a safety issue after it’s already failed. Management doesn’t reward the working but does reward the techs and support staff that don’t put in the time and do minimal efforts into their days. And they don’t send techs to class on new equipment or allied equipment unless you are in the apprentice program.

Great Employment Reviews - Low Raises

Lots of people trying to climb the ladder and throw others off and take credit for anyone else’s work. Management thinks IT is a necessary evil and not a priority, until something major happen. No training EVER. Very minimal amount of money allocated to maintain IT, but always an expectation to have cutting edge system. Employees outside of IT allowed to load any software of the month on their computers and expect IT to train them on it’s use. If it breaks, it’s the IT department’s fault. If the software causes a security problem, that is also IT’s fault.

Carter is not the organization on the inside they appear on the outside

very high stress, demanding job that leaves little time for home/family life and they preach family time a lot but they do not practice what they preach. avoid this organization if you can

Company Supports Employes

Company supports its employees, and rewards you with competitive pays, vacation is 2 weeks to start and PTO that can carry over. Work schedule 730- 400, no issue with pursuing overtime opprotunities

Overall good place to work

Learned a lot. good place to work. a lot of good people. you can move around within the company if you want to. Pay was competitive and they had yearly raises.
