Great start up, to learn management skills, how do deal with customers, also employees. Fun and fast past environment, great company that everyone loves. The bad is when you master all of that there is no other advancement.

Ownership and management don’t communicate well

So i worked as a general manager for about nine months and in that time I was told they would teach me everything I needed to know to be a good general manager don’t get me wrong. They showed me mostly everything but they were really quick about it and didn’t give me really a chance to soak it all in , and then just expected me to just get it on my own afterwards I’m not the only one 2 other GM’s left right after I did for the same issues.

Very little support from upper management makes for a miserable work environment

The upper management constantly set double standards among the GMs in my franchise. The same group of GMs would constantly get praised while the rest would be belittled with no constructive criticism on how to improve. The expectations were ridiculous and Inspire buying out the company and pushing all these new ideas would be great, if there were space for all the new supplies and ingredients.Only plus is if you have a team that you really like and that respect you, but even with that being said, you mostly get employees who don't want to work or that will backstab you in an instant for virtually no reason at all. Very stressful environment and it was never about the sandwiches, which is the easy part of the job, the lack of sufficient support from higher ups is the problem.

Good place to work minus the owner

I enjoyed the culture that jimmy johns pushes to achieve, however since this is a franchise there were some differences which made the experience less than perfect.

the gjob is very unprofessional and you are expected to work extreme hours with little accommodations. I would not suggest this for employees trying to get into low management.

No support

Constantly being made promises that are never delivered on and belittled for not fixing issues that you've never been supplied the tools to fix. Complete micromanagement from upper management

depending on your location a great place for employment

promotions were available for those interested, higher standing positions were a little harder to come by. my particular location was okay until higher ups allowed rather serious issues to go unhandled or mismanaged. I would absolutely return to my previous position if the few issues were fixed or removed.

Long hours but rewarding

Can be stressful at times with staffing issues but overall the job is fun and upper management cares and helps when needed. Pay is good and a nice bonus structure

Its a great company for moving up.

It has been a pleasure working here for the last 8 years. I have learned so much when it comes to the food industry and management. They have very dedicated trainers.

Not a good work environment

Horrible experience and upper management and ownership was worse. Extremely rude, and the people that work there don’t even want to be there 99% of the time.

Fun, fast paced, challenging

Great place to work, upper management is very involved with oversight and help at stores weekly. Challenging fast paced and lunch rushes can be hectic but my team is equipped to get the job done!

Jimmy John’s can be the best and worst place to work.

Inspire is really trying here, but failing. At the end of the day, it comes down to the Franchisee. Some are great to work for, some are the absolute worst. I've had both. Don't let one horrible Franchisee ruin you from the entire brand. Hopefully Inspire can get their head out of their butts long enough to actually see what is going on.

Pretty good pay, nice bonus structure. Con long hours

Management is good. Pay is good and the owner bonuses fairly based off of labor and food cost. Sometimes long hours and weekends and having to come in after unexpected callouts from your management team.

Most undesirable employer

Spin. The planet franchise of Jimmy Johns is the most undesirable employee of the 45 years of professional work. I’ve done this with the most unorganized, uncaring , unprofessional I have ever seen. Unrealistic expectations for bonuses, unrealistic, expectation for pay unrealistic, expectation, and upper management helping general manager‘s. They did not want to help they just want you to be a body.

Above average

Pretty simple and generally enjoyable job itself. Upper management is supportive but also extremely uncaring. It doesn't matter if you have something going on in your life, they do not care and they let you know that. They're active in the stores when they can be and it makes a difference. They're involved. Overall it's a good environment when it's not riddled with gossip.

Not a good permanent career choice.

The franchise stores where I worked had four owners and they acted as the area supervisor.There is absolutely no possibility to move up in this particular franchise company. You will never be more than a GM.

Great Stepping Stone

Need I say more? It’s food service, it’s sandwiches. Kinda what you would expect it to be. You get to work early, you leave work early. Everyone is scared of corporate but they can kinda be the best most supportive aspect of working there.

Terrible place to work!

I would walk into a store that was not maintained by anyone, but myself. I had no kind of help whatsoever from my "supposed to me boss". I worked over 60 hours a week with nothing to show for it except pain in by body. Hardest part is not having the help you need to complete something.

Fun, easy

Not too bad, enjoyed my coworkers the most and did my job the best of my abilities. I was there for 5 years and traved to Chicago for training. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed the perks
