I worked for this company for a year and a half. They were in a transition from side delivery trucks to a box truck going Geo box. With this transition they were cutting pay so I couldn't afford tow work here any longer
Employee discount on sodas
My typical day at work consist of a lot of driving. I learned that driving can take a toll on a person. Management is good. Work culture is non existent because i typically work by myself. Hardest part is driving hundreds of miles a day.
It’s a great paying job but you must work very hard for every penny. This has been a fun/stressful job as a driver but I have stayed because of my 80k a year.
Money, cdl experience
Work under all weather conditions/ long days
I thought I knew what to expect when I started working for Pepsi but I was wrong. Training was 6 weeks with another driver that had an established route and had most of the same stops every week and was done with his route by 1pm daily. When I finally got on my own and got my own "route" it wasn't what I expected. My route was consisted of stops from other drivers routes either they had alot of stops already or the stops they did have was getting a lot of product. So what was left I had to deal with which would of been fine but I didn't get stops in one or two towns that were near each other. I had stops that were 20-50 miles apart and getting a lot of product. Logistically that doesn't make sense and I asked my manager about it and he couldn't give me an answer to why the route was the way it was. I started my day at 4:30am and wouldn't get back to the plant until after 5:00 pm some days. They don't give you the tools you need to succeed old equipment with no a/c and they promise to send you help but it never comes or they will get there and have to go assist another driver.
Old out dated equipment and routes that make no sense
Good equipment, great benefits, flexible hours, free stuff, family oriented, and most customers are pleasant to conduct business with. These are the best reasons. Now, for the worst. DOLLAR GENERAL. are the worst places to deliver. They are always under staffed , so check in is mostly delayed. Too much of a hassle, especially if you have multiple locations on a single route. For the pay if all the driver had to do is deliver, without merchandising, no displays,no rotating stock, or back stock before you bring the product in, it would be a perfect job. I gave a notice, worked there twice. I have no complaints. Great management staff for what they have to work with.
Free shirts, hats, etc great benefits, good equipment, great home time
Working back stock, displays, waiting at DOLLAR GENERAL
You work 14 hours, and I mean you run for 14 hours. 5am to 7pm, if u don’t mind that then you good. Pays great with good benefits. One of 2 jobs I regret leaving. Everyone is nice. The warehouse manager was hard to deal with but if you a driver you won’t have to really deal with him.
Management is worthless. long days with no help, old equipment, pay is low for all the stuff drivers have to put up with. Salesmen are lazy and worthless
Get off early w no lunch or breaks
Management, long hours, no help, pay is not worth it
I thought it was a good place to work. Spring summer fall extremely busy chance for lots of hours. Attention to detail is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle
Good steady job
Long hours short on help
Good management, nice equipment, fair pay , would recommend to a friend, long days, weekly pay, 4 10, including Saturdays, physical job, easy delivery system
4-10, paid weekly, good benefits, good equipment
they treated me fairly i have no complaints it was a joy to work out on the road very refreshing. i was paid well and i enjoyed the work. i would love to work with them again
This company sucks, at least the Livingston facility. Unit manager is a dictator not a leader. To much administrative work is giving to the delivery supervisors and not enough time to complete it all unless you work until midnight. Upper management has no idea how to run a beverage company. Upper management looks at unrealistic numbers on a computer and expect the perfect results
Pay is descent but not worth the stress
Everything. This company is a joke in Livingston
Good money, long hours. Trucks never connected to trailers, you have to go to gas station before even starting your route. Too many stops for an 8 hour day.
Long work hours, disorganized
worked here for almost 2 years. Management was absolutely terrible. Salesmen only cared about commission and would stuff everything they could into a store whether it was needed or not. They also hardly ever worked Blackstock like they're suppose to when making an order so then it falls on you to do twice the work. Now multiply that by 10-16 stops a day 4 or 5 days A week. Then supes gripe and degrade you if you are out longer than a manifest time made by someone who works in an office 300 miles away. If you are a single person and have or don't care to have a personal life, join Pepsi as a route driver. You are guaranteed 14-16 hour days, griped at for it, then spend your days off sleeping and resting. Its a real blast
The physical work is great. Keeps you in shape. Interacting with customers and accounts keeps your brain working. Drink lots of water because you will be back and forth to the truck. Most importantly just be safe and courteous to others around you.
Could've been a decent place to gain CDL experience. Trainer and manager were a toxic combination. You can be a superb employee who does everything expected and somehow the manager would still attempt to make it seem as if you weren’t doing enough.
