Cleaning common areas, patients rooms, discharge rooms, high dust, low dust halls, spot clean any spills in common areas on floors and walls.
I learned that if you stay on top of your cleaning areas you are able to complete tasks in a timely manner, and be able to help out in other areas as needed. Management was hard but fair in most cases, although, they did hold employees who worked hard to higher standard than employees who did just enough to get by. Biases, Interacting with patients and staff, and knowing I did my job above and beyond what was required.
Great company to work for but the management wasn't good, alot of favoritism in the work place. Other co workers got alot of overtime and I didn't, and when I asked the management about that, I was told it goes by seniorty, and I wasn't happy with their answer, especially when it's not Union
Sodexo management is the worst i ever seen very unprofessional treat there employee very poorly.not properly trained in professional manner has very high turn over rate due over work mistreat the housekeeping hospital staff are very unprofessional as well there quick complain to our management but management wont defend us
I don't know about Sodexo in other Provinces in Canada but Sodexo in Lethbridge Alberta at the Chinook Regional Hospital is Terrible!!! First of all they let go of the good people who are ready, willing and capable of working. Management/Supervisors/Lead hands don't know what they are doing or what's going on. unscheduled phone calls all the time to fill in for people that don't show up. Approximately 60 to 75% of them. Pay is not all that great for what is expected of the employee. Half of the co-workers you can't understand because of their lack of communication skills e.g. English language. Half the equipment you have to use to get the job done safely and efficiently is either missing, broken, faulty, wrecked or non-functioning from the previous employee that didn't report it. Employee's & Supervisors just don't take their work very seriously. Going for unscheduled smoke/coffee breaks. They will hide if their area is clean before the shift is done and not help out someone else that is struggling in their department. All in all I WOULD NOT RECOMEND WORKING FOR THE HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT FOR SODEXO SERVICES! YOUR BETTER OFF WORKING FOR A FAST FOOD CHAIN!!!!
Have to many managers, always changing, high management always leaving, would like a manager, that stays at the job. Need to have more people working, always short staffed, workers always exhausted, due to a fast paced environment.
Nightmare is really what housekeeping @ Sodexo is & will be for all who works for this company. Employees are very over worked, not paid over $11per/hr, despite the duties of 50 plus rooms & areas you must clean with only a 30 minute break
A typical day as a House keeper at Sodexo was as follows. I would stock my cart and begin cleaning and stocking all the rooms and common areas on my floor. After that I would go to the dining room and clean and set tables. Then I went back to cleaning rooms and staff facilities.
This is probably one of my hardest jobs. It was very stressful and hard. I always felt rushed and pressured. But I got my jobs done and felt happy that I made my spaces cleaner for the staff, patients and visitors
This company not a bad place to work. You have plenty of overtime, but the pay sucks. You work so hard and do all the overtime and your pay still looks the same. The pay should be better for the amount of work we do.
You are treated unfair. No one gets treated the same the ones that work the hardest and make sure everything get done and is very decadeds to the job are the ones that get treated like s---! And no ones cares about the pay is awful and they don't pay for what you do
While working at Sodexo at my location at Hobart College you would stay very busy at times. During the winter time when the salt is out it made it harder to clean in the buildings and took longer. Also the number of employees per team was supposed to be based on square footage but I don't think they were correct. Management is not always open to listen to listen to you when it comes to your concerns when it comes to a team member or having to much work to do and not enough time. But the pay was better then some other places in the area and it had union benefits as well which helped when it came to problems and pay and unfair treatment.
