UPS’s culture needs an overhaul. They have the potential to be incredible, but adherence to old standards of the Sport coat/ clean shaven lawyer look is tired. It is a male driven culture, trying to intertwine today’s diversity standards into an old model. Peak season (Nov-Dec) is incredibly stressful, no days off, and account managers are expected to travel next flight out to deliver packages in unfamiliar territory, with no extra compensation. Be prepared to work your reg job M-Th, then fly out to parts unknown after a phone call for the weekend to work 12-14 hours delivering packages out of a rental vehicle, flying home Sunday night, then back to work on Monday. Do NOT say no to this, because they will target you, saying you are not a team player. Planning and execution of upper management is short sighted, and usually comes up short of reality.

UPS, has been around since 1907. They have plenty of opportunities for the “right color” people. It was obvious to me that this world-wide global entity has a problem with race. I’ve worked with enough Fortune 100 companies, to see racism up close. UPS, would not be a place that I could recommend to a family member or friend...as a place to work for work/life balance. And, financial/job security.

I worked for one year at UPS France in the headquarters in Paris in the key accounts sales team. It was a great experience and I learned a lot! My manager was really a good mentor and the co workers were very helpful

Great management, team was always supportive, integrity, security and support are on top. Company internal programs are incredible to use. Company diversity is inspiring.

this is a great company to learn, but a con is that the company is so big that change can be very non existent. to progress in the company you have to be willing to throw co workers under the bus. great systems set up to progress but they are not used

UPS has great people to work with who work well with each other and offer assistance as needed. Also UPS has a wonderful training program to ensure a new employee is ready once they are in the workplace.

Pretty much their way or the highway. Employee input, thoughts, and ideas discouraged. Management: They waste employees time on multiple useless meetings.They don't delegate or empower employees and prefer to micromanage.They protect silos and uphold the organizational hierarchy. They emphasize the distinction between staff and management. They are inflexible and focus on the red tape and always go by the book. They take a good functioning system and turn it into chaos for the sake of improvement. Mid-level management withhold information to ensure they are always the smartest person in the room.They don't train, mentor or coach employees for fear they may surpass them or they may see things are simpler than they make it to out be.

A typical day at UPS Freight consists of customer interaction, coordination with the operations staff and general administrative functions that will gain new business and maintain our existing customer base. The culture is geared towards supporting the UPS Ground enterprise overall. The most challenging part of my current position is the lack of corporate direction as we head into the future, where the most exciting part has always been training new staff and helping my contemporaries with special projects and products in my voluntary roles as a "Subject Matter Expert" and as the Regional Sales Mentor.

The employees are not honest about the amount they sell. It's all just made up to make them look. Pressure to sell so people make up numbers about what they sold.

Tough culture. Very traditional and formal. Great job. Great people. Just know it's a stuffy culture, but if you're fine with that they really take care, especially as you advance.

I enjoy working for UPS overall. The work is tough but very rewarding. The company is very important to other businesses and they take great pride in the services they offer.

As an account executive, if you can stay focused on making meaningful sales, you can thrive at UPS. The more you sell, the better the job is. You will have a lot of support to make sales.

As a sales rep on the freight side of the business a typical workday was out visiting with clients and understanding their business needs. Everything about the company is driven by the bottom line.

Great place to work if you are willing to relocate for promotion. If you put in the effort you will get promoted. There are also options for advancement within the building.

UPS been around for over 100 years and there is a reason for that. It is constantly changing and adapting to the world. The role of an account executive was very fulfilling. It provided challenge and increased business acumen. The culture is great as it allows for flexibility and work life balance.

Overall great company. Job security is great. Benefits are amazing. Pay can be a lot better for Account Executives. The culture is very regressive and conservative not very millennial friendly. Promotion is not always based on merit. If you want a company with good stability but are willing to sacrifice pay and at times career advancement this is a good place.
