Freelance Financial Controller (FC) – Monday to Friday (remote working, Turkey from your home)

Global Listings is looking for an experienced Freelance Financial Controller to manage our financial operations remotely. This is a freelance role with the following conditions:

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Turkey time) (late March to late October)
  • 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Turkey time) (late October to late March)

Duration:

  • 24 months (subject to a successful 6-month probationary period)

Position available immediately!

Must be a XERO Super ADVANCED User – Do NOT Apply Otherwise!

Payment:

  • £54 per day (paid in GBP) / approximately ₺2,397
  • Plus paid Leave: you will be paid for an additional 25 paid days per year (pro-rata), which can be used for holidays, illness, or personal appointments. This means we will pay you for having 25 days off from work, on a pro-rata basis over 12 months.

Freelance Agreement:

  • This is a freelance/self-employed role (not an employment contract).
  • Payments will be made monthly in GBP, and you must have a bank account suitable for receiving GBP payments.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes and necessary contributions in Turkey.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including invoices, POs, and debtor reports
✔ Ensure accurate financial reporting and be familiar with foreign currencies
✔ Manage cash flow & working capital
✔ Handle budgeting, forecasting & variance analysis
✔ Maintain financial controls & policies
✔ Prepare management accounts, P&L, balance sheets & cash flow reports
✔ Ensure tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax, PAYE)
✔ Oversee payroll & freelancer payments
✔ Support audits & regulatory requirements
✔ Process & reconcile financial transactions
✔ Manage bookkeeping, accounts payable & receivable
✔ Conduct cost control & efficiency analysis
✔ Ensure timely VAT & tax submissions

Daily Activity:

  • Post supplier invoices to Xero, entering all invoices accurately, categorizing, and reconciling with purchase orders.

Monthly Tasks:

  • Reconcile Xero balances with external statements and post adjustments.
  • Manage credit card transactions and categorize expenses in Xero.
  • Review Xero balances before producing monthly flash numbers.

Quarterly Tasks:

  • Check entries to VAT account for HMRC payment and ensure accurate VAT reporting.
  • Review Xero accounts, prepare accruals and prepayments, and update fixed asset depreciation lists.

Requirements:

At least 6 years’ experience in a similar role
XERO SUPER-ADVANCED expertise is mandatory
Strong financial management & analytical skills
Availability to work Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Turkey time) (late March to late October) / 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Turkey time) (late October to late March)
Dynamic, agile, and technically savvy with a can-do attitude
